Nothing said just yet but that's because we are brand new!

My name is Marcia and I run MiaBroccoli KIDS as a sole trader burning the midnight oil! I do have my dedicated husband at my disposal helping out with several functions of the business when he can spare a moment away from his career.

I have worked in the Fashion Industry for the length of my career since 2001 (I studied Fashion Design & Technology at Pretoria Technicon, South Africa 1998-2000.)  I have worked predominantly with womenswear filling a variety of Design Assistant and later on Patternmaker roles within London companies from 2001-2006 and Australian companies from 2006-2010. I then decided to go freelance working in the technical side of the field doing patternmaking, grading and markers for Australian companies doing local production.

Currently, I run this grading business out of a shared office in Bexley and have started MiaBroccoli Kids as a project of passion - a second business close to my heart.  My first and so far only child was born in 2014 and making outfits for Angelika has brought about a label which is very much about designing baby girl and toddler clothing which is not obvioulsy "girly" since it matches my philosophy on raising my daughter to be whatever she chooses and not paying attention to predetermined gender roles. Many of the styles are also unisex.

Originally I sought local companies to produce the range but unfortunately digital printing on natural fibres seems non-existant in Australia so I had to move my project to China.  For this first range, I have also produced some items locally in plain colours with screen printing.  I will continue to utilize local suppliers for screen printing in future.
